Fly over Lake Te Anau, through the Southern Alps, then descend into glacier-carved valleys until you reach Milford Sound. Here, you’ll disembark for the cruise of a lifetime - two hours of bliss as you travel along the water to the place where the Tasman Sea meets the sound. You might even spot some friendly wildlife along the way. Once you’re back on dry land, your flight will continue through beech forests and over mountain peaks as you head back to Te Anau.

Arrive at the Te Anau Airport [42 Aviation Drive] 15 minutes before your flight.

Preflight Check and Orientation

 

Pre-flight orientation & safety briefing

Complete a passenger information form if required, then relax and enjoy the stunning views while your pilot readies the aircraft. You will undergo your safety briefing before boarding the helicopter.

Pre-takeoff

Time to get in the heli. Your pilot and ground crew will ensure that you are comfortable, buckled in, and have your headset on and ready to go.

Lift-off

The heli takes off, and you’re airborne. Fly over Lake Te Anau, through the Southern Alps, and into glacier-carved valleys before landing at Milford Sound. Your pilot will share the stories and history of the region as you fly.

Remote landing

Enjoy two hours of bliss on a stunning boat cruise through Milford Sound. Travel out to the mouth of Milford Sound where it meets the Tasman Sea before heading back to dry land. Keep an eye out for friendly wildlife!

Back to the helicopter

Loaded back in the helicopter, you’ll fly back over the Main Divide, crossing Fiordland mountain peaks and remote beech forests. Finally, relax with stunning views of Lake Manapouri before landing back in Te Anau.
