From Te Anau Airport, the gateway to Fiordland and Lake Manapouri, soar above the Kilcoy Mountains before descending into Dusky Sound. One of the largest fiords in the Fiordland National Park, you’ll land among the peaks and take in all the beauty, peace and wilderness that have existed here for thousands of years. From there, take off again through towering mountain peaks to another alpine landing before heading back to Manapouri.

Arrive at Te Anau

Arrive at the Te Anau Airport [42 Aviation Drive] 15 minutes before your flight.

Pre-flight orientation & safety briefing

Complete a passenger information form if required, then relax and enjoy the stunning views while your pilot readies the aircraft. You will undergo your safety briefing before boarding the helicopter.

Pre-takeoff

Time to get in the heli. Your pilot and ground crew will ensure that you are comfortable, buckled in, and have your headset on and ready to go.

Lift-off

The heli takes off, and you’re airborne. Soar above the Kilcoy Mountains before descending into Dusky Sound, learning the stories and history of the region from your pilot as you fly.

Remote landing

Your pilot chooses a secluded spot amongst the peaks to land. They’ll let you out in a remote, alpine location, where you’ll be fully immersed in nature’s views. Be sure to snap some photos.

Back to the helicopter

Loaded back in the helicopter, you’ll again fly high above stunning Fiordland views as you head back to the Te Anau Airport.
